January 22nd-- Opening Day!

"Congratulations, exhibitors!  You have just completed the second-largest opening day of the Garden Show!"
And so ended day one, marked by the attendance of over 16,000 people, the second-highest opening day ever for this event.
High"lights" included finally having the full lighting turned on in the exhibit hall. Throughout move-in, we'd been working in this odd yellow light from only half of the lights being on. The hall is much brighter now, easier on the eyes, and easier to take clear pictures, too!
At the booth, we had many, many friendly visitors. Our most popular seller was our "face" bird houses.  We sold every single one in the booth! We had more at the store than we'd been able to take though, so we're restocked for now. Better come down, they may not last through the show!

All of that empty space in the hall is taken up by booths and exhibits now. These two photos are taken from opposite directions, but that's our row, during move-in and on opening day.

Our booth is just to the left of our red Blazer.  The vined corner of our booth is just visible at right.

This garden... ...looks like this now! The hot tub is full and bubbling!

The gardens throughout the hall are magnificent, featuring hot tubs, fountains, gazebos, trees and flowers.
You can smell the flowers as you walk by!

This... ...turned into this, a full kitchen!
We didn't know what this partially-framed wall was for yet... ...but it turned out to be a booth for kitchen cabinetry, complete with the kitchen!

It's a little bit easier to get an overall view of the booth, too, now that the lights are brighter.

Our first day at the show was a lot of fun, and we expect to have eight more great days to come!
Thanks to everyone who visited us today, and we're looking forward to seeing many more friendly faces in the days ahead.
