Night of January 30th-- Moving It All Back Out!

As the saying goes, all good things must come to an end. As with all events, the show ends for the attendees well before it ends for the participants! Small booths such as ours had to finish moving out by midnight Sunday night. It took us until about 10:00 pm, and we were glad not to be working any longer.

Tear-down started at the stroke of 6:00 pm. Flowers were pulled from gardens, displays and merchandise were packed away, and event staff came by collecting table swags. Although the major "de-construction" won't be all finished tonight, masonry already was being reduced to piles of stone, and structures were being stripped down to the wood framing.
'That Which Remains'
It looks like a ghost town in here...
The process actually was very organized, despite leaving the exhibit hall looking like we'd been hit with a natural disaster!

Still strange to see the vehicles driving right onto the floor
I don't think that's what they mean by 'hybrid' cars!
...Or maybe it was just the Auto Show moving in...
These two vehicles were looking mighty friendly sitting nose-to-nose. After a suitable gestation period, I wonder if a little white minivan
with navy racing stripes will show up in somebody's garage...?!

Anything that got 'swept under the rugs' is going to be revealed!
"Roll 'em up and move
'em out..."
...or...
something like that, right?
So would these now be 'truck-pets' ?

For us, all of the merchandise that we'd unpacked into the booth the previous weekend, minus what we'd sold of course, had to be re-wrapped, re-boxed, and re-packed into the truck. But with everyone working together, it went smoothly.
Here's our booth, going,
Beginning to pack up Wild Bird Landing's booth
Still going...
going, going,
...and going...
...AND going...
going, gone.
Sure would have been nice to have that Energizer Bunny to help!
But in the end, we left our poor little booth as empty as we found it
Wild Bird Landing? Naaah, she don't live here no more...

It was a tired family that headed home after tearing down, sorry to see the end of our first Garden and Home Show, and already thinking about how to do more and better at next year's show!

For everyone who was at the 2005 Colorado Garden and Home Show with us, and for everyone who didn't make it down this year, we hope you've enjoyed sharing a little bit of our experience of the show through these web pages. And of course, we hope we'll see all of you next year!

TO BE CONTINUED... (next year!)
