January 29-30th-- The Big, Final Weekend!

The show's attendance and pace increased each day.  By Friday, we were gearing up for a huge final weekend of the show.

We all took turns manning the booth and taking breaks to walk around and browse the show, do a little bit of shopping, and smell the flowers.
Japanese-themed garden with kimono centerpiece
...Get it, like 'biergarten,' only...not...
Theme garden "Tale of Genji."
I called this one the "beargarden."

The 'Under the Sea' theme garden had exotic flowers that resembled undersea creatures

Another view, just because this one was my favorite.

Throughout the show, we made and renewed contacts with some wonderful animal-welfare organizations. We visited with our doggy and people friends from Maxfund and Creative Acres animal sanctuary. We also met for the first time the founders of HawkQuest, an organization promoting the welfare of birds of prey and the environment. They make presentations to schools, businesses and other groups, including bringing along live raptors. Wild Bird Landing and HawkQuest already have exchanged links on our respective web sites.  We hope to schedule an event and have HawkQuest come to the store and make a presentation later this year.  Keep an eye on our web site, because certainly we'll be making a huge announcement when we finalize that date!
